استضافت منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية يوم الجمعة المصادف في 1 يونيو, حفل شواء جماعي في حديقة بروس بمدينة ويندزور برعاية كريمة من السيد سام بطرس خبير العقارات في شركة ريماكس الحديقة التي زينت بالبالونات عجت بالحاضرون الذين جاؤوا لقضاء وقت جميل بصحبة أعضاء كثر من المجتمع. قدمت النقانق الحلال جنبا إلى جنب مع مجموعة متنوعة من رقائق البطاطا والمشروبات للمساعدة في التأقلم مع الطقس الحار. خلال هذا الحدث، تحدث ثلاثة مرشحين سياسيين لانتخابات مقاطعة أونتاريو عن عام 2018 إلى الحضور واستمعوا الى مشاكلهم. تحدث رينو بورتولين، المرشح الليبرالي عن ويندزور الغربية، عن برنامجه وأجاب عن تساؤولات الحاضرين حول الهجرة وإجراءات التصويت بالنسبة للكنديين الجدد. كما قام كل من آدم إبراهيم ومحمد لطيف، وهما مرشحين عن حزب المحافظين التقدمي لكل من ويندزور الغربية وتيكومسي، بتوزيع قمصان وقبعات وملصقات أثناء استماعهم إلى مشاكل وقضايا الحاضرين. وبعد ذلك تم توزيع عينات مجانية من منتجات غسيل الملابس من شركة تايد على الحضور. وتم منحهم تذاكر للمشاركة بالسحب الخاص للفوز بزجاجات شمبانيا مليئة بالشكولاتة وحلويات متنوعة. يبدو أن جميع الحضور قد استمتعوا بالمأكولات المجانية وبفرصة التحدث إلى مرشحيهم السياسيين. والأطفال كانوا سعداء بأخذ البالونات إلى بيوتهم. موظفو المنظمة يتقدمون بالشكر لكل من شارك في الحدث ويأملون الاستمرار في هكذا تفاعل في المستقبل On Friday June 1, the ICGO hosted a Community BBQ at Bruce Avenue Park in Windsor, Ont., sponsored by Sam Petros from RE/MAX. Attendees filled the balloon decked pavilion of the park to enjoy the company of their community members. Halal sausages were offered along with an assortment of chips and drinks to help deal with the hot weather. During the event, three political candidates running in the 2018 Ontario Provincial Election spoke to the attendees and were there to hear their concerns. Rino Bortolin, Liberal candidate in Windsor West, spoke about his platform and took questions about immigration and the voting procedure for new Canadians. Adam Ibrahim and Mohammad Latif, Progressive Conservative candidates in Windsor West and Windsor-Tecumseh respectively, distributed branded t-shirts, hats and stickers while listening to the attendees voice their issues. After the candidates spoke, attendees of the event were able to pick up free samples of laundry products from the Tide company to take home. They were also given tickets for a raffle to win champagne bottles filled with various chocolates and sweets. Everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy the free food and a chance to speak to their political candidates. The children were giddy as they were allowed to take home the balloon decorations. The ICGO’s staff thanks everyone who came out to share in the community event and hopes to continue to engage with the community in more events like this.

These awards were earned by the hard working staff of our organization by helping the people of Windsor-Essex through the 2018 Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Through this work with the CRA, the ICGO has helped people prepare for tax season through free clinics and guiding individuals while completing their income tax returns. The ICGO is proud to receive this award and have staff and volunteers be recognized for their work in this program. غسان ساكا (إلى اليمين) ، مدير عام منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية ، مع مجيد عزيزة (في الوسط) و ربيع إبراهيم (إلى اليسار). حضر مدير عام منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية حفل إطلاق الصحيفة العربية الأحدث في ويندزور " ألف باء" وذلك يوم الثلاثاء. سيتم إصدار الصحيفة شهريًا، من قبل محررها السيد مجيد عزيزة، باللغة العربية، وسيتم تخصيص بعض الاقسام باللغة الإنجليزية إضافة الى الإعلانات. President of the ICGO attended the launch party for Windsor's newest Arabic newspaper, Alef Baa, on Tuesday. The paper, which will be released monthly, is being published by Toronto-based editor and owner, Majid Aziza. Although the majority of the paper will be printed in Arabic, there will be English sections and advertisements as well.

Adel Al-Qes (left) August 21, 1942 – May 17, 2018 منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية تنعي وفاة السيد عادل القس يوم 17 مايو إثر حادث سيارة أليم عن عمر ناهز 75 عاماً. كان المرحوم زوجاً محبوباً للسيدة هدى سلومي ووالداً رؤوفاً للسادة إسحاق وأماني عبد الله. عمل المرحوم عادل بشكل وثيق مع المجتمع العراقي والشرق أوسطي ومع المنظمة العراقية الكندية. لم يكن فقط عضواً ومتطوعاً، ولكنه كان أيضاً صديقاً. تقبل التعازي يوم الأحد 20 مايو في صالة "فاميلي فيرست" في جنوب ويندزور. ستتم إقامة مراسم الجنازة والصلاة يوم السبت 26 مايو 2018 الساعة 10 صباحاً في كنيسة القديس أغناطيوس الأنطاكية الأرثوذكسية في ويندزور, الواقعة في 1808 شارع لابيل في ويندزور. ثم يوارى جسده الطاهر في مقبرة "هيفينلي ريست" في شارع هوارد. The Iraqi Canadian Group Organization mourns the death of Mr. Adel Al-Qes. Al-Qes passed away suddenly on May 17 following a car crash. The 75-year-old was the beloved husband of Huda Salomi and he leaves behind his two children, Al Kass Ishaq and Amani Abdulla. Adel worked closely with the Iraqi and Middle Eastern Community and with the ICGO. He was not only a member and volunteer, but also a friend. Visitation for close family and friends took place Sunday, May 20 at Families First in South Windsor. The funeral and prayer will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Antioch Orthodox Church in Windsor, located at 1808 Labelle St. in Windsor. He will then be laid to rest at the Heavenly Rest Cemetery on Howard Avenue.

على هامش مؤتمر الدولي للغة العربية المنعقد في مدينة دبي / الإمارات العربية المتحدة, التقى الأستاذ غسان فؤاد ساكا بمعالي وزير التربية والتعليم الإماراتي الاستاذ حسين بن ابراهيم الحمادي وطرح عليه مشروع إقامة مدرسة عربية تعنى بتدريس واحياء اللغة العربية في مدينة ويندزور الكندية, ودار الحديث بينهما حول ضرورة انجاز دراسة شاملة تؤطّر الدور المناط بهذه المدرسة في الحفاظً على لغتنا العربية من الانقراض وضمان استمراريتها واستمرارية قومتينا وثقافتنا العربية. ​ On the sidelines of the Arab International Language Conference held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Mr. Khassan Fuad Saka met with the UAE Minister of Education, Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi. Mr. Saka introduced a project to set up an Arabic school for teaching and reviving the Arabic language in Windsor, Canada. The two sides discussed the necessity of completing a comprehensive study that covers the role of this school in preserving our Arabic language from extinction and ensuring its continuity and the continuity of our Arab culture and values.

دعت منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية، بدعم من الحكومة الكندية، أكثر من 18 مشارك من كبار السن للتمتع بممارسة لعبة البولينغ وذلك يوم الأربعاء المصادف 2018/2/28 في صالة "ريف روز بولينغ" في وندزور, كندا. وزّعت المنظمة أنواع مختلفة من البيتزا والعصائرعلى المشاركين ومن ثم قامت السيدة نيران يونان بتنظيم المشاركين في ثلاث مجموعات من الذكور والإناث وشجعتهم على التمتع بممارسة اللعبة بعد ان تم شرح مبدأ وقواعد اللعبة وتوفير كافة مستلزماتها من احذية وكرات . كان يوما رائعاً ، أكثر من ساعتين من المرح افسحت المجال لكبار السن للتنافس، والضحك والتعرف على اصدقاء جدد. وكانت فرصة عظيمة لهم للتكيف مع الثقافة الكندية. The Iraqi-Canadian group, supported by the Canadian government, invited more than 18 senior participants to enjoy bowling on Wednesday 28/2/2018, at Reve Rose Bowling in Windsor, Canada The organization distributed different types of pizzas and juices to the participants. Then, Mrs. Niran Yunnan organized them in three groups of males and females and encouraged them to enjoy the game, as the principle and rules of the game were explained and all the accessories of shoes and balls were provided. It was a perfect day where more than two hours of fun gave the seniors a place to compete, laugh and meet new friends. It was a great opportunity for them to adjust to the Canadian culture.

احتفلت منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية وبرعاية كريمة من السادة سام بطرس, وائل نقاشا, كرم اللامي وجوزيف زيونة بالاعياد المجيدة وذلك يوم الاحد المصادف 17/12/2017 بقاعة كابوتو كلوب في محاولة منها لإدخال الفرح الى قلوب اطفالٍ سرقت منهم الحرب القذرة ابتسامتهم البريئة The Iraqi-Canadian Group Organization celebrated the glorious Holidays with the patronage of Mr. Sam Boutros, Mr.Wael Nqasha, Mr.Karam El-Lami and Mr.Joseph Zayouna, on Sunday 17/12/2017 at CABOTO Club, to bring some joy to the hearts of children who lost their innocent smile due to the dirty war.

اقيمت مسابقة اللعبة العربية الشهيرة (الطاولي) يوم السبت المصادف 2017/11/25 برعاية من ابن الجالية السيد سام بطرس خبير العقارات في ويندزور وبفضل جهود حثيثة قدمتها منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية في ويندزور ممثلةً بمديرها العام السيد غسان فؤاد ساكا واعضاء هيئتها الادارية الكرام وكادر من المتطوعين. استمرت المسابقة ثلاث ساعات ونصف تبارى فيها 37 مشاركاً تنافسوا بروح رياضية وبشكل اخوي وودي في قاعة مقهى السلطان لصاحبها السيد محمود الشمري, وكان الفوز من نصيب السيد وليد ميخا يوسف الذي استلم كأس المسابقة إضافة الى مبلغ وقدره 50$ مقدمة من اسواق دجلة والفرات في ويندزور .تمتع المشاركون بهذه المسابقة ببوفيه مفتوحة من الحلويات والشاي والقهوة العربية والدي جي والموسيقى العربية والاجنبية الجميلة. بهذه المناسبة تشكر اسرة منظمة المجموعة العراقية الكندية مشاركة العنصر النسائي من قبل الانسة غسق الكاهجي والسيده هدير صقر اللتين حضرتا المسابقة وشاركتا فيها ايضاً. هذا وقد شكر السيد غسان فؤاد ساكا الحضور وهنأ الفائز الاول ووعد الجميع بنشاطات اخرى متنوعة وأكّد على أهمية هذا النوع من المشاركات بين ابناء جاليتنا العربية من اجل دعم التعاون والمحبة في ربوع وطننا الثاني في المهجر كندا...كما شكر السيد غسان فؤاد كل من ساهم في هذا الحفل الجميل ووجّه تحية خاصة للسيد راضي درويش الفيصلي مدير عام جمعية الهلال الاحمر الاحوازي في ويندزور لحضوره هذه المسابقة الجميلة. The competition of the backgammon (Taywali) was held on Saturday, 25/11/2017, under the patronage of the Sam Petros, a real estate expert in Windsor, Canada and due to the vigorous efforts of the Iraqi Canadian Group Organization in Windsor represented by its Executive Director Ghassan Fouad Saka, its board of the members and a valuable team of the volunteers. The contest lasted for three and half hours with 37 participants who competed in a friendly spirit at the hall of the Sultan's café, which is owned by Mr. Mahmood Al-Shamary . The winner was Mr. Walid Mikha Yousef who received the competition cup as well as $50 donated by Dijla & Al-Forat Food Market. The participants enjoyed an open buffet of desserts, Arabic tea and coffee, D.J. and beautiful Arabic and Eastern music. On this occasion, the team of the Iraqi Canadian Group Organization thanked the participation of the female competitors, Ms. Ghosq Al-Kahaji and Ms. Hadir Saqr, who participated in the competition. Mr. Ghassan Fouad Saka thanked the audience and congratulated the first winner, promised to have other various activities and emphasized on the importance of this kind of participation among the members of the Arab community that supports the cooperation and love in Canada, our second homeland . In addition, Mr. Ghassan Fouad thanked everyone who contributed in this great event and sent a very special greeting to Mr. Radhi Darwish Al Faisali, the General Director of the Ahwazian Red Crescent in Windsor for attending this beautiful competition.
